LE CAVALIER BLEU is inspired by Kandinski painting organization “Der Blaue Reiter”.
As the Der Blaue Reiter Almanac essays and theorizing with composer Arnold Schoenberg indicate, Kandinsky also expressed the communion between artist and viewer as being available to both the senses and the mind . Hearing tones and chords as he painted, Kandinsky theorized that (for example), yellow is the colour of middle C on a brassy trumpet; black is the colour of closure, and the end of things; and that combinations of colours produce vibrational frequencies, akin to chords played on a piano. Kandinsky also developed a theory of geometric figures and their relationships—claiming, for example, that the circle is the most peaceful shape and represents the human soul.

This release is a blurry vision of a tale where you could meet this dark rider overlapping his blue horse, enjoying great mountain landscapes and mysterious forests, colors and darkness.

This was achieve using, guitars, keyboards, bells, field recordings, bass.
It was recorded and mastered between april and august 2012.

((( REVIEWS )))

Linear Bells latest release “Le Cavalier Blue” presents three pieces which explore the rigid yet rich field of minimal-drone. This release on its own speaks for Linear Bells integrity and solid presence within the realm of ambient-drone. Released the 27th Of August 2012, the work contains over-shadowing textures and atmospheric pieces which seek to accommodate a “journey of discovery.” “Le Cavalier Blue” opens with “Dogs and Guns” a strong piece which uses a mildly ethereal melody and spaces between sounds that accomplished the zenith point of pleasing effect. As “Dogs and Guns” slowly vanished in “A Treasure” another 12minutes movement is born this time exploring a minimalistic vibe that is both dark and enlighten at the same time. The 03rd and the last track on this release “There Is A Mountain” breach the 17minutes length bringing some EXQUISITE drone sound together. This is an ABSOLUTE MUST my friend.

THE SIRENsSOUND.

This set of 3 long-running compositions is produced by David Teboul aka Linear Bells from Naoned (Nantes), Brittany, (the territory which has been culturally and ethnically occupied and oppressed by France over many generations) whose album An Island (issued on the Swedish tape label Zeon Light) is being one of the top notches in 2012. However, this time he turned over 180 degrees to take more on discrete space-related effects full of dark-hued and shadowy fringes and corroded resonances. By nature the album is genuinely pessimistic giving no hopes and light-hearted glimpses for next days. It sounds like a broadcast transmitted from an abandoned junkyard of history reflecting still upon the fucked-up dreams and hypocritical life of human kind having had once before the torrent of malignant radiation annihilated it all. The release is to be one nick in the long array of the aesthetics once conceived by Luigi Russolo who warned us from possible consequences and tremendous side effects coming out from the industrialization process.
